Why we spend a whole day on every site
Before we draw a line, one of us spends a whole day on the site. Six in the morning to eight at night, one folding chair, a notebook and a compass.
Every hour we write down where the light is: which wall it touches, how long the shadows of the trees are, where it would be pleasant to sit. By evening the notebook holds a rough map of the day.
It sounds slow. It saves weeks. Half the decisions about a house (where the kitchen goes, which window is big, where the terrace is) are already made by that page.
