Process

One project, one long day.

Five phases, from the first morning on site to the evening a year after you move in. Scroll and the sun crosses them.

From morning to evening

Where the sun is, we are.

01 / 07:00

Listen

A morning on site with you. We listen to how you live or work, and watch where the light comes from.

02 / 10:00

Sketch

Loose drawings and sun studies. Three directions on paper, so you can choose with your hands, not with jargon.

03 / 13:00

Model

A card model under a lamp that moves like the sun. You see every room at every hour before it costs a brick.

04 / 16:00

Build

Drawings for permits and builders, and one of us on site every week until the roof is on.

05 / 19:00

Live in

We come back after the first year, at dusk, to see what the house became. Small fixes are on us.

Questions

Asked at the first visit.

Do you work outside the UK and Portugal?

Yes. About a third of our work is abroad. We always spend at least one full day on site, wherever it is.

How long does a house take?

Usually twelve to eighteen months from the first visit to moving in: about five months of design and permits, the rest on site.

What does it cost to work with you?

Our fee is a share of the building cost, agreed in writing after the first visit. The visit and the first sketch are a fixed price.

Can you work on an existing building?

Gladly. Half our projects are old buildings. Old walls usually already know where the sun is.

Do you also do interiors?

Yes, from the plan to the door handles. We design the rooms and the light together, so it is easier for us to do both.
