A public library lit from the north all day, with reading terraces that step towards the big windows.
A library for a harbour neighbourhood, with one reading room under a roof of north-facing rooflights.
North light never moves much. It does not glare on a page or fade a spine, so the reading room has the same calm grey-white light from opening to closing time. The south side holds the stairs, the cafe and everything that likes the sun.
